Euclid Legal Pro, LLC was formed in 2023 with the sole purpose of providing law firms with unparalleled underwriting experience when it comes to finding a trusted solution to their professional liability needs. Founding Partner David Ruple has extensive history and experience in this space, and over the years of his service in the industry he learned one thing- that responsiveness to the needs of both the insured law firms and the broking partners that service these accounts is paramount. It is our goal to be a partner for our firms and brokers not just through the underwriting process, but during the claims process as well. Our job does not end when an account has been bound, rather we believe a full-service approach from underwriting through claims is what separates us from our competitors. Our experience shows that this team-based approach produces the best results for all parties involved in the relationship- carrier, broker and law firm.

David Ruple is the Managing Principal for Euclid Legal Pro, LLC, a lawyers professional liability insurance underwriting managing general agency. Prior to forming Euclid Legal Pro, LLC, Dave was the Senior Vice President at Great American Insurance Company where he was responsible for managing, marketing, and developing of the lawyer’s profession liability product. Prior to this, Dave worked for Aspen Insurance Holdings as Senior Vice President of the open brokerage lawyers’ professional liability group for seven years. He brings 18 years of experience focusing on professional liability, and also has extensive experience in the claims process as well. Dave earned his master’s in business and risk management from St. Peter’s University and has a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University.

Euclid Insurance Services, Inc., began as a retail insurance agency selling all types of property, casualty, health, and life products. Founded in 1952 by Peter Colis, the son of Greek immigrants who settled in Chicago in search of a better life, the firm remains family-owned today.
Euclid continued under the leadership of Peter’s son John, who joined the firm in 1992. Prior to joining the company, John first built a 10-year career in the corporate insurance world, learning the reinsurance and program insurance business.
Over the next 20 years, Euclid built its program administrator business into an industry leading platform for launching new MGAs. In 2021, Euclid was awarded the Platform of the Year award by The Insurer publication. As part of this evolution, the original retail insurance agency – which had grown to become one of the larger retail insurance brokers in the Chicago market – was sold in 2012.
Since our founding, Euclid has grown and changed in many ways; however, our original commitment to excellence remains fully in place. Today, we continue to live up to those values by creating premier underwriting companies by partnering with best-in-class insurance professionals.
